Like most guitarists, I have my preferred brand of guitar strings. Each brand has a unique feel.
For my BC Rich Warlock NJ series, I’m currently restricted to Floyd Rose Speedloader strings due to the bridge. I’m currently using the 10 gauge 25.5″ scale series. The only place I order them from is The Music Farm.
For my other 3 electric guitars, I was using the DR Dimebag series, hand wound 10 gauge strings. I recently switched to the DR Black Beauties, 10 gauge handmade coated strings. Although slightly more expensive, they last longer, protect against corrosion from dirt, sweat, and humidity, and I find them easier to slide. I’m considering the possibility of switching to the 11 gauge in the same series.
For my Fender acoustic, I’m currently using 11 gauge DR Rares. Like the other DR strings, these are handmade as well. Some people have voiced their concern regarding handmade strings due to the lack of consistency, but I haven’t had any complications yet.
